A somewhat failed experiment this week as audio problems mean we have a very silent play time in Modern Warfare 3, but stick around for the non-sound of Russians dying and mines everywhere and then a bit of hedgehog discussion at the end. Oh, and even more importantly, Skyrim is coming out tonight at midnight. Excited?

It’s November: the leaves are turning colors and piling up in yards, grocery stores are filled with turkeys, and Christmas music is rapidly becoming inescapable during waking hours. Another yearly November occurrence is Call of Duty. Since the powers that be have decided we need a yearly installment, I think it would be a lot less confusing if they followed the naming conventions of other yearly series like Madden. Just call it “CoD 2011″. It seems like such a mouthful to have these long titles with colons like “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3″. The only way I can get behind this is if they give each installment a fun subtitle like “Soap on the Ropes” or “The Price is Right”. In any case, you’re probably wondering if this game brings the goods. Find out after the break.
Get Sam Worthington, the star of the highest grossing film of ALL TIME and Jonah Hill, one of the most respected comedic actors of his generations and what do you get? This really over the top, intense and well put together trailer for Modern Warfare 3. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it, mostly because the teaser trailers were so short, choppy and nonsensical. What do you think of the trailer? Click to watch.
Spec Ops + Survival? It’s like Nazi Zombies without the Nazis or the zombies! And admittedly, while killing zombies is more fun than killing not-zombies, the survival aspect does make this more interesting than just plain old Spec Ops by itself. This trailer does a pretty good job of showing off what Spec Ops Survival has to offer, so check it out for yourself and see what you think.

I can’t deny that this looks cool. It has several varying locations that are familiar and filled with destruction, large armies and big action set pieces. While on a technical level it doesn’t look better than BF3 or display any of the same level of destructibility that the Frostbite 2 engine does, it looks to be a solid game. We’ll be posting more info on the game as it comes.
