Good intentions, epic (and disastrous) results. If it’s by Freddie Wong, you know it’s going to be good, and this one’s no exception, although it feels like something Luigi would do.
Real stunts, CG goodness, and all around hilarity make this one a must watch.
Nintendo President Sotaru Iwata let word of a new 2D Mario game for the 3DS slip during their most recent investor meeting. It’s set to come out in the next fiscal year, which to be fair is from April of 2012 to March of 2013. Mario seems to be getting a lot of love on the hand held device, more than he’s getting on consoles which is fine by us because we don’t use our Wiis anyway. Will this be New New Super Mario Bros 3DS? Will it be a totally new title or perhaps a 3D version of a classic 2D mario title. Chances are it’s New Super Mario Bros 2.
E3 2011 Liveblog: Nintendo Press Conference

Coming right after Sony’s conference, Nintendo has a lot to live up to, but they also have a whole lot to show off. We’ll be getting our first real look at the Project Cafe, Wii 2, or whatever else they decide to call it, some new games for the 3DS (about time!) and undoubtedly another look into The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which will hopefully make for a successful stage demo this time around. Once again, we’ll be commentating starting at 9am PST, so set your alarms and check back here for an hour and a half of whatever Nintendo decides to dish out.

Nintendo unveiled a couple cool new things about the 3DS (which launches in just under 4 weeks here in the US and in Europe) this morning at the Game Developers Conference. First and foremost, Mario will be coming to the 3DS. We don’t know when, but we do know who, what, where, and why: Mario, Mario 3DS, on the 3DS, and because Mario makes boatloads of cash respectively. The other good news? This new 3DS game is being developed by the Super Mario Galaxy team, which probably means it will be pretty incredible.
Also coming to the 3DS (in May) are video recording, Netflix, a web browser, and the virtual console which will include games from both Game Gear and TurboGraphx-16. I’m not gonna lie, I’ve never played a TurboGraphx of any sort, but I played the hell out of my Game Gear back in the day. In addition to Netflix, Nintendo will also have a special channel set up for 3D videos, which will include trailers and other cool stuff in 3D.
Can we also get YouTube 3D, Nintendo? Please? So we can all watch our favorite 72 Pins videos in sexy 3D on the 3DS? Yeah, that’s right, I said it, we’ll be bringing the 3D (sooner or later or sooner rather than later or maybe even later rather than sooner but hopefully sooner).
