Or more accurately, a very colorful Devil May Cry. I’m still holding off my impressions until I actually get to play the game, but I do like what I see here in this brand new gameplay trailer.
You’d be hard pressed to find a person who thinks that the Devil May Cry reboot DmC is a good idea, but this new gameplay teaser might make them curious about it. This trailer features nothing but platforming in an ever changing urban landscape. Buildings come in closer, paths shrink, floors fall out from under you. It’s very intense and looks like a lot of fun… but Platforming was never Dante’s game before. Why now? Where is the combat, which was the focal point of every previous title? Before all the PAX goodness hits tomorrow, here’s a post with thirteen videos featuring the following games: Dark Souls, Virtua Fighter 5, Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, DmC, Dragon’s Dogma, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, Uncharted 3, Steel Battalion, and last but not least League of Legends. That’s roughly a couple hours worth of footage, some good, some not so good, and some that’s just flat out amazing (depending on your tastes of course).
