The guys and gals at Thousand Pounds Action Company have done a lot of great video game and anime inspired fights, including several based on Street Fighter IV. Here they’ve taken a page out of the free flowing fight mechanics of Batman Arkham City and let their female lead Mickey Facchinello go on an ass kicking rampage against some thugs.
One of the things that makes Thousand Pounds so special isn’t just the clean moves they pull off but also their dynamic cinematography which appears to be as planned with the fights themselves, moving with each strike. Some one please gives these cats a budget and lets see what they can really do. Watch the fight after the jump.
What does Nightwing have that Batman doesn’t? Well he’s got a $6.99 (560 MSP) DLC for starters, which just happens to feature his unique gadgets, special moves, and looks. It’s kind of too bad that you can only play him in challenge mode, cause flying around the city as Nightwing sounds fun, but at least he does come with 2 new maps (Wayne Manor and Main Hall) and an Animated Series Nightwing skin. This DLC will be available November 1 on Xbox 360 and PS3 (even though the game still won’t be out yet on PC) and if you want some more Dick Grayson in your life, his Robin Bundle Pack will be available on November November 22 for the same price.
Check him out after the break.

Recently a person who I respect, Britt Hayes, wrote an article that was a reply of sorts to FilmCritHulk’s commentary on the sexism that is so apparent in Batman: Arkham City. Britt hadn’t played the game yet, and as some one who has finished the majority of the game I felt as though I had some insight to the game, and could make a few points that maybe FilmCritHulk had missed. I suggest you go read their articles and then come back, and while I know that may take a while, I’ll still be here waiting for you when you finish. Oh and sorry about FilmCritHulk’s all caps thing… he writes in character. Back? Ok good Read on for the full response.
Unboxing: Batman Arkham City Collector’s Edition

Just got one of the best looking Collector’s Editions of all time, and I wanted to share it’s unboxing with you all. With this edition comes a statue made by Kotobukia, early acces to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map, early access to the Dark Knight Returns skin, Collectible Art Book, bonus DC Universe animated original movie “Batman: Gotham Knight”, digital download of “Batman: Arkham City The Album”. For whatever reason I got two codes for Catwoman and no code for my Dark Knight Returns skin. This kind of bothered me, but I’m looking into getting it replaced. Click for full unboxing video
Batman is a universally loved character and there are a lot of different ways he can be written. You can make the cartoony over the top Batman that you saw with Adam West and the currently running Batman: The Brave and the Bold. You can write him dark and serious like Batman: The Animated Series and Christopher Nolan’s films. There’s of course a mix in between but my favorite version of Batman is the one in the shadows, the detective, the true crime fighter.
Just in time for next week’s release of Batman: Arkham City comes a Batman themed controller for Xbox 360 and PS3. This model is the wired Xbox 360 Model, which is pretty awesome. Several different lighting settings, back-lit buttons and a comfortable grip make it an all around solid controller. Click on for the video of the unboxing, color schemes and a little commentary on how well it plays.

Over at the Arkham City Forums, community leader Sarah has given us some details on why you may want to play through Batman: Arkham City a second time after you’ve finished it. If you beat the game on Normal or Hard it looks like you get to keep all your progress including XP and gadgets. This gives you the upper had, but all the bad guys are bit tougher, and you won’t be getting that helpful counter maneuver icon that appears over their heads when they attack. I’m up for the challenge! Are you? Read on to see what other special features Game + has in the official statement from Sarah.
We talk about From Dust, Catherine, Brink and then move on to the 3DS price cut (missed it by that much last week) and Final Fantasy / Batman / other stuff.

Looks like depending on where you pre-order your copy of Batman: Arkham City you’ll be getting a different bonus Batman skin to play with. Thanks to ArkhamCity.co.uk for sharing this with the web and showing us all the different options. While I like that they threw in Animated Batman, he seems out of place. My personal favorite here is Batman Beyond… still wondering how that mouth works.
From left to right it’s Batman Beyond, The Dark Knight Returns, Earth One Batman, 1970s Batman, Animated Batman, and the normal Batman from the game. Do you have a favorite? Comment below.
I think the title’s descriptive enough on this one – 12 minutes of Arkham City gameplay, no matter what sort of content it features, is going to be interesting, and definitely going to be worth your time. And as you can see, it features Catwoman, which is always a plus. Check it out inside.
