Watch: Sonic & All-Stars Racing TRANSFORMED

by on April 30, 2012 >> 3DSPS3PSVITATrailersVideosWiiWii UXbox

Sonic & All Stars Racing was actually a really solid kart racer that borrowed some of the best mechanics from Mario Kart but of course added a Sonic twist with more unique levels, carts and more. I actually prefer it to the Wii Mario Kart game. Now we’re getting a sequel with a really great mechanic of transforming for different environments. Karts will become boats and jets depending on when it’s necessary. Pretty sweet. Oh and there’s Dubstep. Dubstep is always good. Click to watch Sonic rock out to dubstep at a million miles an more.

8 Bit Zelda PC Case Mod Is Awesome

by on February 27, 2012 >> 3DSDSNewsPCWiiWii U

The 8-Bit Builder, Richard Clinton has made a PC Case mod out of wooden blocks that’s shaped like the Legend of Zelda hero Link. With light up sword intact, the creation of this case mode can be seen from start to finish. Small wooden blocks were glued together 1 by 1 until finally a sturdy frame was in place. Add wiring, PC components and you’ve got yourself a handsome little PC. What do you guys think of it? Check out his Facebook Page and Etsy shop. Click to watch the creation in video form.

Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 Coming This Fall

by on February 27, 2012 >> 3DSDSNews

Nintendo has officially announced that a direct sequel to Pokemon Black & White is coming this fall. New pokemon, evolutions of pokemon you already have and more can be expected for this game. Seems pretty cool to me. I loved the previous titles. The upcoming game will be a Nintendo DS Title which is surprising since the 3DS is their current pride and joy over there. They do say that you can also play it on the 3DS… like that’s news. Of course you can play a DS game on a 3DS. Stay tuned here for more Pokemon news, trailers and reviews as soon as they hit. In the mean time I suppose you can check out their official site if you can read Japanese.

New 2D Mario Game Coming to 3DS In The Next Year

by on January 27, 2012 >> 3DSNewsRumor

Nintendo President Sotaru Iwata let word of a new 2D Mario game for the 3DS slip during their most recent investor meeting. It’s set to come out in the next fiscal year, which to be fair is from April of 2012 to March of 2013. Mario seems to be getting a lot of love on the hand held device, more than he’s getting on consoles which is fine by us because we don’t use our Wiis anyway. Will this be New New Super Mario Bros 3DS? Will it be a totally new title or perhaps a 3D version of a classic 2D mario title. Chances are it’s New Super Mario Bros 2.

Nintendo Sells 4 Million 3DS Systems

by on January 3, 2012 >> 3DS

Nintendo launched their new handheld the 3DS last year to mixed reviews, a lackluster line up, and months without AAA titles in site. It wasn’t until this past winter that we’d have said the system was worth your time or money. At launch the system cost nearly 300 dollars with almost no launch titles worth your time save for Super Street Fighter 4. Many of the system’s best games last year were relaunches of N64 titles including Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time and Starfox 64. In the middle of the year the system had a price drop due to lack luster sales and Nintendo tried to buy off it’s adoring public by offering them old game titles, that many would not play, and wouldn’t feature any 3D functionality. So why is Nintendo calling this year a success? Read on to find out.

Watch the new Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance trailer from Jump Festa 2012

by on December 19, 2011 >> 3DSVideos

The original Kingdom Hearts was fun. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance also appears to be fun. My only complaint is: why can’t we get a 3DS trailer that just goes full screen with all its pixelated goodness? Check out 8 minutes of half screen pixelated goodness after the break.

Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition? AWESOME!

by on December 17, 2011 >> 3DSNews

Pokemon has never really tried a crossover before and if you were to ask “What franchise do you think Pokemon should be blended with?” I’d never have said “Nobunaga’s Ambition, that turn based strategy game from Koei.” Nobunaga’s Ambition is a series of turn based role playing games where you play a man trying to become a feudal lord and reunite Japan in the 1500s. It’s full of resource management and warfare. It’s not exactly where I pictured some one would slide in Pokemon. BUT The trailer does look rather impressive and maybe this could be a new twist to revitalize both franchises. Click for links to the trailer and more impressions

3DS Circle Pad Pro is a Gamestop Exclusive?!

by on December 13, 2011 >> 3DSNews

I don’t really know what Nintendo is thinking on this one. Gamestop will be the only company to carry the 3DS accessory, The Circle Pad Pro starting on February 7th which is the same day Resident Evil Revelations. The item will cost $19.99 and will make your system that much larger and more awkward. We honestly believe it’s only a matter of time before the device is integrated into the 3DS with a second model that also includes longer battery life. Will you be picking this item up on launch? Review: Super Mario 3D Land

by on November 21, 2011 >> 3DSReviews

I find that you can usually judge the quality of a Nintendo system by how good its Mario titles are. The NES, with both Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3 is obviously a classic, as is the Super Nintendo with Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG, and quite a few more. The same goes for the Gameboy and the DS with a wide selection of quality titles, but then you have something like the Gamecube and Mario Sunshine, of which I was not a fan. If not for the incredible Mario Kart Double Dash, the Gamecube would be down there with the trio of awfulness that is the Virtual Boy, Mario Clash, and Mario Tennis. Super Mario 3D Land is the first Mario title on the 3DS, and with it I’d say the 3DS is off too a pretty damn good (but late) start.

PETA Actually Takes On Mario for Tanooki Suit?!

by on November 14, 2011 >> 3DSNews

It’s amazing to me what lengths some people will go to in order to get their message out there. Soem times a group can be totally in the right about something, even violence in video games and how it could possibly effect children… but this? This is a gigantic reach that I don’t think ANYONE saw coming. PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is calling out Nintendo for Mario’s latest power up, the Tanooki Suit in Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS. While Mario doesn’t go around skinning Tanooki which are a real animal, a racoon dog, they claim it sends the wrong message to children about it being ok to wear fur. More of this shit after the break.
