Well they went and did it. Gearbox won me over with dubstep, a break dancing claptrap and 870 Gajillion guns. Who knew that was even a number?! Four new characters, old faces returning, new classes, split screen co-op, 4 player co-op, more character customization and oh did I mention EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY GAJILLION GUNS?! Oh and Nero’s track Doomsday which I do love. And it all comes on September 18th, 2012. Just shot to the top of my most anticipated list. Catch us on Steam to play with us when the game launches this fall. Click to watch the wub wub filled dubsteppy trailer.
When the first trailer for the upcoming SSX title was released at E3 fans of the franchise were worried. The game seemed to lose it’s bright and colorful charm in favor of an edgy atmosphere and gritty reality. I think fans go through to the developers because EA has produced a game that feels like the next logical step in the SSX franchise while also maintaining all the things fans of the franchise have come to expect. Even the idea of going TRICKY is back and in a big way. I loved playing this demo and I have a feeling this will be a game I don’t put down quickly after picking it up. Read on for the full impressions.
I always ask my self what is The72Pins… well it’s Matt and myself and to a lesser extent our friends who write for the site, John and Bridgette (who happens to be Matt’s fiance). These are the things that interest us. While that might not be an incredibly smart way to market one’s self or even a smart way to run a gaming news/review site that’s what we’re about here. We want to be the reason you come to use for entertainment, comedy, news and opinions on nerd culture with film and gaming being the forefront. We’re not ever going to be IGN or Kotaku or Destructoid in size or scope. We want to get to know you and want you to know us. Why? We’re attention whores. Please keep reading.
Young Justice: Legacy Coming in 2013
by Kent on February 21, 2012 >> News • PS3 • PSVITA • Wii • Wii U • Xbox
I love Young Justice. I think it’s one of the best animated series on today and I’m really sad that season 1 was so short and that it was broken up with months and months between new episodes. Hopefully Season 2 won’t be that way. But now a small developer called Little Orbit is going to make an multiplayer RPG based on the show. The problem is… Little Orbit’s only previous game is called Busy Scissors and it looks fucking terrible. Taking on one of the better TV franchises is a big task and our expectations for this title are low. more details after the jump.
More minutes equals more fun. Check it out after the break.
Finally finishing my fort… but is a roof and four walls really enough to keep the creepers away? Apparently not. Not as long of an episode as I usually make but after a late in the episode Creeper attack I’d had enough for a while. Check back Wednesday and Friday for all new episodes of Kent VS Minecraft! Mass Effect 3: Take Back the Earth Trailer… IT’S AWESOME!

Big CGI action… Pixar destroying levels of animation… Shepard and Ashley… but truly there are no words… Click to watch.
I have followed Doug Chiang’s work for a while now, especially the stuff he did on the Star Wars prequels and I always admired his design work. Now his design is the basis for a new story and world… the world of Robota. A game coming to iOS and Android through the indie studio Sixits. Best part is you can help fund this game now for as little as five dollars and get a copy of the game when it launches through their Kickstarter campaign. What I’ve seen so far looks like a lot of fun and I love all of Doug’s work so I’ve already invest $100 to get a set of marker sketches and a poster signed by Doug. That’s not bad considering all the stuff the guy has worked on in the past. Check it out and watch their video. Their page is also loaded with information and CGI tests. I think this is going to be the start to a very cool and rich franchise. Click to watch the Kickstarter video.
Ghost Recon Future Soldier Has Beautiful Animation
by Kent on February 19, 2012 >> News • PC • PS3 • Trailers • Videos • Xbox
This trailer for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier shows off it’s cover system and animations, both of which are incredibly fluid. Apparently all the animation is motion captured from real NAVY SEALS which is rather impressive. The soldiers use augmented reality to help them assess the situation and move from cover to cover fluidly. Oh and the cover can be destroyed which means campers are done for online. What do you think of the animation and cover systems? Click to watch the behind the scenes video.
If you’ve yet to see anything about One Piece: Kaizoku Musou, this is the place to start. The game is a combination of One Piece and the gameplay of Dynasty Warriors, and it essentially travels through most of the series locations, delivering a game that actually follows the story of the series. I’ve included 3 full length trailers and two new commercials which show off the Drum Island and Enies Lobby Arcs. I highly recommend watching them all, even if you’re not a fan of the series. Kaizoku Musou hits the PS3 in just a week and a half on March 1st, and I’ll be getting the game shortly after and streaming it live on the72pins.com/live or twitch.tv/the72pins. Stay tuned for more details on the livestream and view all the trailers and screenshots after the break.
